Donaldcrunk is the audio/video byproduct of Jason Degelman, a central IL electronic artist. The music - produced in most part by an analog modular synthesizer - slides between melodic loops, static-filled drones simplistic rhythms. The goal is to present the modular synthesizer as the modern electronic folk instrument, expressive and delicately balanced. Tonality and noise are presented as one, with dynamic build-ups and simple arrangements reminiscent of shoegaze and a childhood diet of midwestern emo.
